CBE AND RAFI CONDUCT LEADERS OF CHANGE FORUM
CBE collaborated with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) in holding the Leaders of Change Forum last March 20, 2012, at the CBE-CefTEx Training Room, Cebu Normal University, Osmena Blvd., Cebu City.
To help promote the work of the RAFI Triennial Awards Laureates, RAFI initiated the Leaders of Change Forum to bring about awareness and inspiration from applied principles and philosophies from among the good and working examples and approaches of the Laureates. It is hoped that through these examples, development stakeholders will be able to “bring home” and apply their learning and insights from the forum, and for them to carry on their roles to the next level.
Over 50 participants listened to the talks of Mr. Leonilo Rivero of SOS Children’s Village Davao and Ms. Analou Suan of the Great Physician Rehabilitation Foundation (GP Rehab) of Dumaguete City. Both speakers elaborated on the theme, “The Role of the Family and the Community in Child Development”, and described how their respective organizations aim to remain committed to their mission of serving the sector they have been mandated to serve - children and families.
By the end of the forum, there were inquiries on how the participants could partner with the SOS Children’s Village and GP Rehab, as well as government and other non-government organizations, in advancing child-related advocacies, particularly child rights, more effectively.
While it was expected that the participants learn from the various models of leadership, management, and change presented, positive feedback from the forum will hopefully pave the way for collaboration in future initiatives among and between the Laureates and the different development stakeholders in the Visayas and Mindanao.
